The IBM 608 plugboard programmable calculator was IBM's first all-transistor product, released in 1957; this was a console type system, with input and output on punched cards, and replaced the earlier, larger, vacuum-tube IBM 603. The FA Cup

The first Soviet pocket battery-powered programmable calculator, Elektronika B3-21, was developed by the end of 1976 and released at the start of 1977. After acquiring the rights to the MotoGP World Championship in 2003 coverage of the World Superbikes was dropped. Computer operating systems as far back as early Unix have included interactive calculator programs such as dc and hoc, and interactive BASIC could be used to do calculations on most 1970s and 1980s home computers. By the end of that decade, prices had dropped to the point where a basic calculator was affordable to most and they became common in schools.
